When I was starting off...I saw a lot about how to behave and I saw a lot about how not to behave and it taught me many, many lessons. No-one wants someone who behaves badly. I know for sure that before I was cast opposite Sean Connery...he called around everybody and anybody he could find to find out, 'Is she okay? Am I going to want to kill her?' I guess I passed the test on that one...
Marriage is important. I certainly didn't want to get married just because I had a child. My commitment to my husband and baby is important to me legally and also emotionally. To stand up and declare that means a lot to me. It makes me feel secure and strong.
I love being bold, alive, in the moment. Those are the qualities of the strong, brave stars I grew up loving. I love glamour and glitz, going to premieres dressed up and smiling and waving. And the quality of the work I'm being offered? All I keep thinking every day is, 'My God, this is great. Enjoy it while it lasts.' I'm someone who doesn't take things for granted.
