Seorak-san Mountain
Seoraksan is the highest mountain in the Taebaek mountain range in the Gangwon province in eastern South Korea. It is located in a national park near the city of Sokcho. This is one of my grandfather's favorite places - Really Nice! He's doing ok, but still in the hospital.

Seoul
The capitol of South Korea! I live near by and just think it's a beautiful city! With population10.3 million and 605 km² of area, the Han River winds through the city, splitting it in two. The Gangnam-gu area on the south bank is Seoul's most exclusive neighbourhood, but on the whole, the southern areas have less interest to the traveller than the historic northern neighbourhoods. The World Cup stadium is to the west of the city, in Mapo-gu.

Bulgogi (Barbecued Beef)
Pulgogi is one of Korea's most famous grilled dishes. It is made from sirloin or another prime cut of beef (such as top round), cut into thin strips. For an outside barbecue, the meat is marinated for at least four hours to enhance the flavor and to tenderize it in a mixture of sesame oil, soy sauce, black pepper, garlic, sugar, onions, ginger, and wine. The marinated beef is cooked on a metal dish over the burner. Whole cloves of garlic, sliced onions, and chopped green peppers are often grilled at the same time.
To eat, select a pice of cooked beef, and wrap it in lettuce with rice, kimchi, shredded vegetables, or a number of other garnishes on the table. You can also add doenjang (bean paste) for flavor.

Facts
Korea is the most homogeneous people in the world. We all speak Korean and we're very nationalists and a even proud of our own culture. You might think we are too much of a conservative population, most easterns are and it's just the way we know how to live and preserve ourselves. Even though, many young people are trying to change this, and I agree that we need to be more open to others, but without losing our identity. |
