The Bruins have their championship caps on

John Bucyk, "The Chief," got his chance, too.He was a Bruins winger from 1957-78 and has served in the front office for most of the time since then.Zdeno Chara let out a scream when Commissioner Gary Bettman handed him the cup, then he gave it a couple of pumps and a kiss. Then, he handed it off to alternate captain Mark Recchi, who didn't hold onto it long enough to find his name on it. Then Patrice Bergeron, the other alternate, and then Tim Thomas. The rest of the Bruins are lining up for their turn.Got to be the best trophy tradition in sports. No surprise here: Tim Thomas won theDaniel Sedin finals Jerseys as the MVP of the playoffs.

No surprise here, either: Commissioner Gary Bettman was booed when he wnt onto the ice to present it.This was the fifth shutout of the playoffs for Thomas. The Stanley Cup has never ridden so high.Six-foot-nine Bruins captain Zdeno Chara ¡ª the tallest player in the league ¡ª will get the first trip around the ice with the NHL championship trophy. He'll no doubt pass it off quickly to 43-year-old Mark Recchi ¡ª now a three-time winner, who has said he is going to retire. It's a final. Bruins 4, Canucks 0.The Bruins have their championship caps on, and after a brief celebration they're going through the handshake line now.

Tim Thomas and Roberto Luongo ¡ª two Vezina Trophy finalists ¡ª spent an extra few minutes wishing each other well.Roberto Luongo went out for an extra attacker with about three minutes left, but that just left the goal open for Brad Marchand to score his second of the night. It's now 4-0 with two minutes left.Kevin Bieksa tried to get in the way, but Marchand scored playoff goal No. 11.The Alexander Edler Jerseys finals just had their second power play. In their first, they gave up a shorthanded goal but didn't get a shot off themselves. This time they fired off three shots on goal. (And also gave up another dangerous shorthanded opportunity to Patrice Bergeron and Brad Marchand.)Still 3-0, Boston. Six minutes to go.

Josh Beckett threw a one-hitter against the Tampa Bay Rays, but Red Sox manager Terry Francona knew it wasn't exactly a priority among Boston fans."Think anybody will be watching our game," he asked reporters beforehand.Francona checked in with Bruins coach Claude Julien during the week to wish him luck. The Red Sox skipper admitted he didn't know much about hockey, even though he grew up outside of Pittsburgh and his father, former major leaguer Tito Francona, ran an ice rink after he retired where the Penguins sometimes practiced.

Well, that wasn't the way the story was supposed to end.In the end, the Vancouver Canucks ran out of gas, and fell to the Boston Bruins in Game 7 of the Stanley Cup Finals. Now they can take a day or two to decompress after the stress of the last two months of playoff hockey, but then the Canucks will need to asses what happened and where to go from here.Once the smoke clears from downtown finals Henrik Sedin Jerseys and emotions aren't running quite so high, general manager Mike Gillis and head coach Alain Vigneault can assess the season and see where the team came up short, and then move to address those weaknesses.

Does Gillis package the picks to trade for a roster player?Does he offer them to a team, possibly along with other compensation, for a restricted free agent?Or does he simply use them as intended and draft some more prospects? The third question is what to do with the impending restricted free agents and unrestricted free agents?Amongst the forwards, Raffi Torres, Chris Higgins, Tanner Glass and Jeff Tambellini are all unrestricted free agents. Maxim Lapierre and Jannik Hansen are restricted free agents.Amongst the defencemen, Kevin Bieksa, Christian Ehrhoff, Sami Salo and Andrew Alberts are all unrestricted free agents.

Who will sign a new contract before free agency opens on July 1st? Who will test the market, and who will never again don a Canucks jersey? The fourth question is what do to with Cory Schneider?Schneider was the best backup in the Daniel Sedin Jerseys finals last year, and has one year left at $900,000 on his contract. Do the Canucks deal him at the draft? Or do they wait until later in the summer? Or do they hang unto him as the backup for another year? The fifth and final question is what to do with Keith Ballard? Ballard has four years at $4,200,000 left on his contract. He also fell down to approximately 10th on the depth chart during the playoffs.

Rookie Chris Tanev dressed in the Stanley Cup Finals over Ballard, and the Canucks even called up AHL journeyman Nolan Baumgartner as insurance for Game 7 rather than risk putting Ballard back into the lineup. What can the Canucks do with Ballard? Will he be able to adapt to the Canucks system if given another year? Or is he simply a square peg trying to fit into a round hole? Can Gillis convince some other team that Ballard has value? Maybe, but it would probably take some draft picks and/or prospects to sweeten the deal for a team to take on Ballard's contract. These are the five major questions facing the Canucks, and I'll discuss them in depth over the next few weeks.

This is not how it was supposed to happen. When I predicted a Canucks sweep in the finals it wasn't (just) because I bleed Canucks colours (no matter what they are in any given season), or because I believed Luongo had exorcised his demons in game seven against the Hawks, but because I didn't and still don't believe the Bruins are as strong a team as Chicago, Nashville or San Jose.I believe that Tim Thomas is a magical goalie, and I have great faith in magical goalies who are capable of getting into a zone where mortal shots can't beat them. But I believe Nashville's Pekka Rinne is a magical goalie, San Jose's Anti Niemi -- who had never lost a playoff series before this year -- was a magical goalie, and I think Chicago's Corey Crawford played as well as either of them.

They knocked over the pots and set off firecrackers Porta

Only five years removed from playing in Finland and the American Hockey League.Tim Thomas is a blue collar guy from Flint Hardscrabble, Mich.Five years earlier, he had to make a decision: stay in Finland or in the future back and try to do in the NHL. "I am very pleased with the decision to return, but it was a difficult decision at this time? Said the guardian of the Boston Bruins, who won the Conn Smythe Trophy as player of the series after stopping Ryan Kesler Jerseys finals in the Stanley Cup-clinching win for Bruins Rogers Arena Wednesday night. "Having said that, I was glad to be gone (in Finland )."

Having fought for everything he got, Thomas takes nothing for granted. "I know how this game is," he said after the Cup paraded around the ice. ? Winning the Stanley Cup is huge. The greatest achievement of my career so far. But everyone knows if I start next season bad, probably the Cup bought me a little room, but it will not last forever unless I turn my game around. "Thomas is a finalist for the Vezina Trophy and is in a wonderful three-fold: the Stanley Cup, Conn Smythe and Vezina, a coronation for the 37-year-old.Downtown into a moving sea of ??sadness and anger Wednesday night as tens of thousands of Canuck fans poured into the streets after their team's heartbreaking 4-0 defeat to Boston in the decisive game of the Stanley Cup final.

Later that night, rioters smashed a window of the Bank of Montreal and vandalizing a police car. "This is releasing the tension, man," said a man in his twenties who set a trash fire. ? What will you do when you lose the Stanley Cup? You riot. "Sonny Wallas was sitting on a lawn chair on the street where the Roberto Luongo Jerseys finals stormed by singing to him." They became very aggressive and swearing. The next thing I saw, Big Smoke, black smoke and flames and the car was on fire, "said the most rabid supporters Wallas. For Canucks, the loss was a shock superb, the crowd goes silent in the wake of successive goals in Boston. "It's tough being a fan of the Canucks now," said a depressed Dick Curtis, during the game. "The only thing to do is go find something eat it. "I knew it was over when I saw (Canucks goalie Roberto) Luongo stand there and watch the puck go by."

Boston Tim Thomas, meanwhile, continued his exploits, and this year stopped more shots in the playoffs than any other goalie in NHL history. "I do not like it, but it is a good goalkeeper," admitted Rick Rypien Jerseys finals, if it has not had much positive to say about the team in front of him. "Boston is not very athletic. I think they are bullies. They are players mean." As the game wound down, Bill Kendrick watched from the rooftop bar of Joe Fortes Seafood & Chop House. ? You can not blame Roberto Luongo for it, "he said." Where was the defense? "" I feel sick, disgusted, "said his wife Marina.

It's whatever the final score says it is

According to the NHL, no team since the Original Six era (which ended in 1967) had led in goals for and against, power play and penalty kill in the same season. They had the NHL's top point-getter ? ? (Daniel would win the Art Ross) and top playmaker (Henrik would lead the league in assists). They had the league's winningest ? ? goaltender with 37 wins, even though Luongo stepped aside enough times to make sure Cory Schneider got his 20 games in for the Jennings Trophy. This was no accident, this Cup run.It may have looked like one, lately, but there are no inexpensive trips to the Stanley Cup final. Every player, every coach, every trainer, every equipment man pays a steep price. If they win on Wednesday, will they deserve it? Ryan Kesler Jerseys finals right they will. And if they lose, they'll deserve that, too. It's not up for a vote. It's whatever the final score says it is.

In the 2002 playoffs, former Canuck general manager Brian Burke had his fill of Daniel and Henrik Sedin being abused by the Detroit Red Wings and staged a theatrical rant that included his famous line: "Sedin is not Swedish for punch me or headlock me in a scrum."Current Ryan Johnson Jerseys finals Mike Gillis resisted the urge to do a "Burkie" on Tuesday when he met with reporters at Rogers Arena on the eve of tonight's Stanley Cup Final Game 7.The Boston Bruins have been taking liberties with the twins in this series and it was never more evident than in Game 6 on Monday. In one incident, Bruins captain Zdeno Chara, who is seven inches taller and a listed 75 pounds heavier than Henrik, shoved the Canuck captain to the ice. While Chara did receive two minutes for roughing, Henrik received two minutes for diving, the officials apparently feeling he should have been able to maintain his feet after the contact from his 6-9 opponent.

In a second incident, Bruins pest Brad Marchand threw six gloved punches to Daniel's head and received only two minutes for roughing, plus a 10-minute misconduct. Daniel also received a misconduct, although he did nothing but take the abuse. The Sedins are back-to-back scoring champions but apparently that doesn't earn them any benefit of the doubt.Gillis was asked about the respect factor for elite players, and whether the Sedins are getting any."I know the respect I have for those two players as people first and as players, and that's all that matters to me," responded Gillis. "I can't think for other people and try and figure out how they're making decisions. All I do is evaluate people based on what I know. I have the highest regard for them. If someone else doesn't, I would have issue with that, but for me I have the highest regard for them."

Now there's a way to avoid a fine.NO REGRETS: Roberto Luongo Jerseys finals winger Raffi Torres, who played in a Game 7 in the 2006 final with the Edmonton Oilers (and lost to Carolina), said there is only one message to deliver to his teammates. "Obviously it's a great opportunity for us," he noted. "I think the main thing I stress in the room is to just leave it all out there. It's a chance to bring the Cup here to Vancouver and, at the end of the day, you don't want any regrets."SICK BAY WATCH: Canuck defencemen Alex Edler and Andrew Alberts, neither of whom finished Game 6 in Boston on Monday, were declared fit - "they'll be fine" - by head coach Alain Vigneault. In fact, Vigneault declared that every player in his lineup tonight was "fine." Of course, no one was buying that and Vigneault's little smirk said as much.

For the record, here is how the coach explained his team's health situation: "Everybody is fine, I've been telling you that since the start of the playoffs. This is the best time of the year. I know we're looking forward to the opportunity [tonight]. It's a great opportunity, it's an honour to be able to play a seventh game in the Stanley Cup Final, and everybody who is available is going to play at 100 per cent."Vigneault also hinted that a player who has been out had "some possibility" to play. That could be defenceman Dan Hamhuis, who was injured in Game 1 of the final June 1 and hasn't been seen skating since. He did not skate with the extra players on Tuesday. His injury has never been disclosed.

"We'll know more [today]," Vigneault said of the mystery player. "For us, injuries and adversity have been part of our daily routine throughout this season and we faced every one of them head on. It's very unfortunate for Mason [Raymond] not to be able to play in the seventh game, but the guys that we have available are going to jump on the opportunity."We worked all year long to get home ice, to play in front of these great fans, to feed off their energy and that's what we're getting [today]. I think our home record is pretty good, too."The Rick Rypien Jerseys finals have won six straight playoff games at Rogers Arena and are 10-3 overall in the playoffs at home.

BY THE NUMBERS: The series continues to set records on Hockey Night in Canada as Game 6 drew an average audience of 6.6 million, making it the most watched hockey game in CBC history. The previous mark of 6.1 million was set during Game 5 ... This marks the sixth time since 1939 that home teams have won the first six games of a best-of-seven final. The home team went on to win Game 7 three times ... Setting it straight: the Pittsburgh Penguins were out-scored 17-14 by the Detroit Red Wings in the '09 final en route to their Cup victory. The Canucks are currently being outscored 19-8 by the Bruins ... Tonight's Game 7 is the seventh of these playoffs, tying the record set in 1994 ... The home team has a 12-3 record in the previous 15 Game 7 showdowns in the final.GAME 7 HEAVEN: Venerable Bruins winger Mark Recchi, a two-time Cup winner (Pittsburgh '92, Carolina '06), will be appearing in his 11th Game 7. Recchi is only the ninth player in league history to appear in 11 Game 7s. Patrick Roy and Scott Stevens share the Game 7 appearance record at 13. Daniel and Henrik Sedin will be appearing in their sixth Game 7s. The Canucks are 3-2 with them in the lineup.

The loves to play the "history will be made" subject

The Lightning '04 boasted many players name at various stages of their careers: Vincent Lecavalier, Brad Richards, Martin St. Louis, Dan Boyle, Nikolai Khabibulin, Fredrick Modin, Dave Andreychuk and more. The Flames have been built in true style Sutter, Darryl Sutter as the ground-team coach at the competition and thrived on the two stars, Jarome Iginla and Miikka Kiprusoff.Ultimately will be in Calgary was unable to overcome skills Tampa Bay, Tampa Bay and Lord Stanley in Florida. Before 2006

team loaded with talent, the Hurricanes of 2002 came to the Cup final as a team built by committee. There was some skill in programming, but none of that against the team's Hall of Fame in Detroit. Detroit team featuring a collection of surreal Players: Rick Rypien Jerseys finals, Luc Robitaille, Sergei Fedorov, Brett Hull, Brendan Shanahan, Nicklas Lidstrom, Dominik Hasek and more. Carolina's team recommended, and many hard workers. While the Hurricanes won Game 1 in overtime, the Red Wings roared back to win the series in five games.

Ah yes, the "No Goal" series. Well, even if the infamous Brett Hull goal would not be counted, there would still have been a decisive Game 7 in Dallas, and stars have been heavily favored for this race. In its current form, this team the Dallas Stars in the spotlight at the pinnacle of their right to vote, Joe Nieuwendyk, Brett Hull, Mike Modano, Sergei Zubov were head and shoulders above any player on the Buffalo team.Buffalo Featured Dominik Hasek in his prime, and the combination of Hasek and two-way players like Michael Peca's Sabres took all his? one of "No Goal" ... but no further.

The second Stanley Cup in Detroit in the 1990s, this Red Wings team featured as key players who defined the Red Wings of the decade. The Washington Capitals have done before upscale as Adam Oates and Mats Sundin Jerseys finals , but they were more defined by their style of defensive play and the emergence of Olaf Kolzig. The pre-Caps Ovechkin, wearing their blue jerseys relic now, failed to make a dent in the armor of Detroit Red Wings got their back-to-back Stanley Cups with a sweep.

When you think of the Avalanche is the team you think of Patrick Roy, Joe Sakic, Peter Forsberg, Adam Foote, Claude Lemieux, and many other heroes / villains of the time. Quick, name one of the Florida Panthers 1996 outside of John Vanbiesbrouck. (You get bonus points if you said Brian Skrudland.) The Panthers have built their identity as the ultimate team in the Avalanche was overflowing with talent, which eventually exceeded the Panthers and their rat-throwing fans in only four games.

This team was all Red Wings in the standings for team statistics, and it must be to rise to greatness. Unfortunately for the Wings, he was two years before their time. The front fenders Hockeytown may have ravaged the Western Conference this season, but a circular saw in the shape of the neutral zone trap made quick work of wings, knocking out four Manny Malhotra Jerseys finals .Those right of defense-first are all different, some have bigger names in the net and others had a little more scoring depth. However, they all played by the defense committee and that is what their systems were built on. Their opponents, however, the depth huge star in almost all positions and playing phenomenal regular season.

Again, this is good news / bad news for the Bruins. The bad news is that the only winner of the Cup this group is the 1995 New Jersey Devils. The good news is that this particular team Devils ripped the Red Wings a team that went 12-2 in the first three rounds, showing that each series has its own  finals Kevin Bieksa Jerseys beast. The loves to play the "history will be made" subject. The story is not c? Tee in Boston, so if they beat the Canucks, history really has been done.

Hockey has never been appreciated by some of the most influential figures in the U.S., considering the sport was introduced nearly 100 years after the drafting of the Constitution. It still did not stop Paul Revere's sports front Bruins Bruins Stanley Cup final showdown with the opening of the Statue of Vancouver Canucks. The Revere was joined by statues of the family of ducks in public garden, as each duck had their own jersey. Clearly, the Ducks are trying to "make room for a Stanley Cup champion?, While Paul Revere's horse looks forward thanks to Boston, calling the arrival of the Bruins' power play .

everyone is trying to limit distractions as much as we can

VANCOUVER - In the Stanley Cup final, it became clear that Vancouver seeking benefits where they are - even when it comes to accommodations

Asked about the thought process behind decisions h? Such, the coach at Alain Vigneault has refused comment. However, forward Jeff Tambellini has spilled the beans on the

If we stick to this now. "Explanation Tambellini and Schneider is a far cry from when Vigneault told the media before the Stanley Cup final, when he said

The team would not be using an h? Like everything at home.

The decision to sleep away from home while the show is in Chinese Rosetta Stone, we are told, came from the Canucks management group. "The day before a game, it's not a big
